Roller Coaster Tour begins May 21, but it’s something I dreamed up a few years ago. I grew up a 2 hour drive from Cedar Point – unquestionably the best roller coaster park in the U.S. – and we used to go there regularly. As I got older and moved away I stopped going on coasters and one day I asked myself “Why?”
Roller coaster parks are the great equalizer: everybody gets to be a kid! No matter if you’re 5 or 95 the only goal with going to a theme park was to have a great time. You could go on tea cups or 200 foot drops and there would always be smiles all around.
Let’s generate more smiles, yeah?
I’d love to meet up while on tour so if you want to ride coasters with me click here.
You can check the Route and see when I’ll be in your town. As you can see the tour is planned pretty tightly into 3 months. There will be a lot of drive days and a few rest days, but mostly I’ll be powering through the United States and riding more coasters than any one man has ever attempted. 13,000 miles in 3 months maybe doesn’t sound like too much, but I’ll be averaging about 150 miles/day on the road.
If you want to stay updated on what’s going on here there’s an e-mail subscription box up and to your right.
You can also find me on twitter where I’ll be providing regular updates: @KarolGajda
If you want to help: I need help finding a sponsor. More info is here. It would be awesome if you had a lead for me. :)
I’m heading out to South By Southwest in Austin, TX tomorrow so if you’ll be there just get in touch and it would be great to meet up pre-tour. :)
I’ll be providing updates over the next couple months, but they’ll be sporadic until tour starts. If you have any specific questions just contact me here.
Talk soon!

awesome idea!
Looking forward to following your progress and watching your videos.
Jules
Thanks Jules :)
Karol, I remember reading about this in HTLA…it’s great that you are doing it! What a remarkable way to spend your summer. I’ll definitely be following along. Hope you got a credit card that gives 2x or 3x miles on gasoline purchases. I have a feeling that hearse will drink a lot.
Enjoy the Roller Coaster Tour Karol. :D
It’s definitely something really fun to set such target and go on it for 3 months. I believe not much people done it before, and it also shows the total freedom you got, the freedom of choice and time.
Good luck in making your childhood dream come true!
(Btw, amazing design. Did you do it?)
www.charfishdesign.com – Charlie is amazing!
AWESOME IDEA! I love roller coasters a ton and look forward to going to at least one park every year. I’m only an hour from King’s Island and a few hours from Cedar Point. So hopefully I can make it to one of those locations when you are there and meet up.
And I agree, Cedar Point is still my favorite park. The Raptor, Millennium Force, Mean Streak, Top Thrill Dragster… they are all epic!
Awesome tour! I’ll have to live vicariously through you as I get *really* sick on them! :)
Looking forward to May 21st! I’m looking forward to riding along (vicariously) during the journey!
Nice! My husband grew up about an hour from Cedar Point. I like your style. Hope to see you rockin’ the Cyclone in Brooklyn this year.
Your design is fab, I like the Ghostbusters-esque car rockin in the footer down there.
You are doing it, you are going on tour! That rocks. We’ve been dreaming up a tour for me. But, it looks like it’ll be next year instead of this one.
Rock on man!
Hey Alexis! Yes, I’m doing it. :) What kind of tour are you dreaming up?
This is some Ridiculously Extraordinary shit bro! Would love to link when you make it to NY. Until then, i’m hoping that whip of yours has some hydraulics!!
